In recent years, it seems like we’re all trying to find our little niche or nook in the online world. Most people have chosen to establish and share their lives through the use of social media, and I’ve done that thing. I’ve run the rat race and felt the dopamine highs and lows of watching posts hit or flounder, but in 2021 I realized I didn’t enjoy it anymore. I pulled back from social media and revisited passions that had previously captured my heart.
In that time I stayed in the background, absorbing but rarely interacting and almost never posting. It felt freeing in a sense and disjointed from the new way of communication in another. I found my voice again through all of the noise and realized that I enjoyed being online and having a place to capture my thoughts and adventures, but I didn’t like the frenzied, instant-gratification pace of social media. So, out of that desire was born an idea for a blog, website, community, ministry that could morph and take the shape it needed through a slower media format of storytelling the old fashioned way – with words and images.
But, ultimately, I’m doing this to attempt to provide the world for my sons that I hope they get to live in. A world the lives as if it’s ruled by the Kingdom of God. I’m doing this so that they might know their dad a little bit more, and so they might know the world I want them to live in.
